I have a SPARCengine Ultra AX motherboard with a 167mhz CPU module
and a Creator 2D frame buffer that I'm having trouble getting up an
running. I have the OEM Technical manual and the Motherboard
Configuration guide and have come across a contradiction. The two
documents disagree on whether to have J33301, the power switch
jumpered or unjumpered as it is "nonfunctional" with this
motherboard. I guess nonfunctional means that it doesn't work with
the momentary ATX power switch like the AX-300 does. Here's what I
have done, without noting the jumper:

(Using a 250W ATX powersupply)

1. When I turn the unit on, the Sun5c keyboard beeps and it's LED's
flicker
2. The PC Speaker beeps once immediately after I turn the power on
3. The CPU module's heatsink warms up and seems to be working.
4. No display comes up, either on the FFB or from the serial port
with the NULL modem (and without the NULL modem, I was desperate)
going to a Linux machine, a Windows 2000 machine and a Windows 95
machine (I didn't want to lug it to the room with all the Ultra 10's)

What could be the problem? The FFB's (I have two of them) are new
sealed from a Sun reseller, the RAM should be good; I have two kits
of 64MB (8 DIMMs total, 128MB total). The CPU module seems to be
working, I may persuade someone here to let me tear down and Ultra
somewhere and test it though.. This was pulled from a working
environment by some techs (downsizing... what a shame ;), sealed and
shelved for about 6 months until I acquired it.
