2) Versions of Solaris?  8 is the latest.  "Recommended version"
is a bit ambiguous.  Most say to go with the latest if your 
apps support it.

Use patchadd (or installpatch).  Download and read the README file.

Sorry if my questions sound too simple,...:
1)what is the command to find the firmware version in sun solaris box?. 
Other than rebooting the box.
2)where do i find what are the recommanded versions?.
3)where do i download patches from and install them?.
