Yes and No, Not on Solaris 2.7 but we have had it happen a couple times on
Solaris 2.6 running CDE.
So far, everytime its happened, the user has had Netscape as well as other
graphics intensive windows open ... then kablooey... ALL the windows that
they had in various workspaces are dumped on the screen with a black
background and reduced functionality - the prompt still responds - just
not the frame/DT controls.

So my answer is YES we have had it happen.
How to solve it... nothing more elegant than Keith mentioned.
tried kill -HUP <pid for dtsession> note: kicked the user out ...ouch
and let them login successfully  ;^}
...forgive my ignorance, but ...
"nothing ventured, nothing gained"
Could Netscape (v4.7) be causing this???
We also run alot of GIS software - ArcInfo, etc.

any ideas???
