HI=20

You could try with giving the non-rewindable name of the tape =
device
.

       ufsdump 0cf /dev/rmt/0mn <fs>

 Regards

Subject: [Sunhelp] problems to backup

Hi,

I have some problems when I try to did a backup on my solaris 2.7 with
ufsdump. I didn't arrive to combine several backups onto a single tape. =
I
tested with the command mt -f /dev/rmt/0 fsf 1 to did the next backup =
on the
same tape, but the result was ....only the last backup stayed on the =
tape.
And my second problem is.... I didn't arrive to backup 2 differents =
slices
at the same time.....ufsdump say me :

the command: # ufsdump ucf /dev/rmt/0 /data2/reynard
/usr/local/mysql-3.22.32-sun-olaris2.7-sparc
DUMP: Writing 63 Kilobyte records
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Wed Jul 12 09:02:02 2000
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
  DUMP: Dumping /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s5 (server1:/data2) to /dev/rmt/0.
DUMP: Mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: `/usr/local/mysql-3.22.32-sun-solaris2.7-sparc' is not on dump
device `/dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s5'
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.

because the second fils is on an other slice......

Many thanks for your help.

Regards

Juan
