Your #1 contradicts with #2.

If you need a shared storage for 1 or 2 servers, Sun's A1000 would be not a
bad choice (for your volume you are lookin' at about $17,000). Your #3
sounds like multiple servers and SAN or NAS solution. I would check nStor
for this and be ready to spend in a range of $30,000.

Hi,

We've got some old sun servers and we're looking to
upgrade, perhaps to a 250.  We've got literally
340GB of all kinds of old disk on these guys, out
of warranty and beginning to fail.  We'd like to
consolidate onto new media.

Any advice on...

  1) A good storage system to go with?  

  2) A good economical source for such?

  3) Any tips on pulling together multiple machines onto one?
