Hi,

Can someone tell me what am I missing here?

I have an Apple LaserWriter 16/600PS, and it's named "freyja" and have a
valid host entry in my /etc/hosts:

192.168.1.3 freyja

I would like to setup the printer as a network printer on my SS10/712 (Sol
8), read thru the AnswerBook, and tried lpadmin commands:

# lpadmin -p apple_lw -v /dev/null
# lpadmin -p apple_lw -m netstandard
# lpadmin -p apple_lw -o dest=freyja:9100 -o protocol=tcp -o timeout=5
# lpadmin -p apple_lw -I postscript -T PS
# cd /etc/lp/fd
# for filter in *.fd;do
> name=`basename $filter .fd`
> lpfilter -f $name -F $filter
> done
accept # apple_laser
UX:accept: ERROR: Can't establish contact with the LP print service.
TO FIX: Either the LP print service has stopped,
or all message channels are busy. If the
problem continues, get help from your
                  system administrator.

I have no problem printing to the printer from my Mac and also my
NeXTstation via LPR.

Thanks in advance,

Tim
