[Sunhelp] Quality of parts used by Sun

It seems that the entire trend is toward less and less reliable parts for 
the entire industry. I don't think it is only about price - some of the 
worst products are sold on the market for prices comparable to the 
traditional brand names like TOSHIBA or FUJITSU.
I think that it is about the need to sell as much as possible, so if you do 
things to last for ever, people won't buy another one.

When I buy parts, I still look at the "Made in [...]" label.

About disks, if I need reliability I would use FUJITSU, HITACHI or even IBM, 
not Seagate.

For CD-ROM's, TOSHIBA or TEAC are my choices; I had bad times using 
CREATIVE, SONY, MITSUMI and at least 10 other "brands".
