In my experience, if you run setup_install_server and then run
add_install_client both from the CDROM it won't work, perhaps because
sharing overwrites some entries in the dfstab file.
Try running add_install_client from the directory you used to install the
"install server" to (/data1/install in your case).
So you would type;
# cd /cdrom/s0/Solaris_2.6/Tools
# ./setup_install_server /data1/install
<<copy files - wait X hours>>
# cd /data1/install/Solaris_2.6/Tools
# ./add_install_client etc. etc. etc.

  Subject: [Sunhelp] boot from net

  hello all,

  I have a Ultra2 workstation without a CD-ROM,
and I want to boot it from net and reinstall the Sun OS.

I configured a Enterprise 250 as install server in the
  following step:
  1 #./setup_install_server /data1/install
  2 #./add_install_client -e 8:0:20:1:2:3 -s 10.1.1.1:/data1/install
        -i 10.1.1.3 hosta sun4u
All the output shows no error. System can create /etc/ethers,
/etc/bootparams /etc/dfstab , also system generate some processes
such as in.rarpd, rpc.bootparamd, nfsd ,mountd

After I type "boot net" on Ultra2, it can obtain the IP address,
it can also boot up, but when the system configuring /devices directory.
the system shows an error something like:
      Unable to NFS mount /data1/install...
then the system enter into shell command line interface,
instead of Webstart interface. So I can not continue installing OS from
net.

Can anybody help me out of the problem.
  thanx for your IMMEDIATE reply.

  regards
  kevin
