1. Make sure you have the correct SIMM.
2. Turn off the power.
3. Ensure it is positioned correctly, the key in the SIMM does this for 
you; however if you try hard     enough on the SPARCS it will go in 
backwards!
4.  Use a wrist strap,  usually nothing will happen if you don't, but in 
low humidity, high static areas you can damage  chips.
5.  Run the memory test once its installed.

Hi,
I am going to add some extra memory in one of the Sun Boxes (a Sparc)
It currently has 128MB and I would like to add as much as possible.
What precautions should I be taking, and what could possibly go wrong? :)
