	I've seen similar situations on at least 2 different networks that had
ordinary "dumb" hubs.  The network configurations were very simple and
standard.  In both cases, I never got the suns to work with those hubs. 
I ended up uplinking with another hub that the sun liked.  All the other
boxes (newer suns, NT, Mac, etc.) worked fine.  The machines in question
were Sparc 10's and Ultra1's.  The Ultra2's did not have any problems.
