[Sunhelp] How do I KILL a Hung Socket

We have serveral servers running SunOS 5.5.1 and 5.6.  For some reason
the
third party applications running on these servers sometimes leave
sockets behined (hung/deadlocked).  The only way we have found to clear
the hung
socket is to reboot the server.

Is there way to gain access, or reset these sockets so they can be
closed
rather than rebooting the server?
