The internal memory is located to the rear of the laptop, one of the sodimm slots is in front of the parallel port interface.

The other sodimm slot is in front of the ps2/keyboard/mouse port that is next to the parallel port.

You will have to remove the keyboard, remove the lcd/screen, and then remove the top half of the case.

The bottom of the case is very weak in the front - be careful.

The plastics are from the dell 5000 series - in case you break something <grin>.
