[SPARCbook] Lost it's sync?

I have a Sparcbook 3gs which sat for several months without being 
used. It was by all appearances fine when last used, but now when 
powered on, it looks like it has lost "vertical sync", and the image 
scrolls rapidly down the screen.

Any clues or obvious fixes? It does this from power-on--when the 
sparcbook splash screen is up.
