[rescue] Static IP! Now what?

We're upgrading from residential DSL dynamic IP to business class
internet at work. Looks like we're getting a /29. I've been behind
dynamic IPs for so long, I don't really know what to do with it. NTP
prefers servers on static IPs, so I can do that now. I haven't
planned on moving mail off our remote VPS, but maybe a backup MX?

What else is a static IP good for?

I still need to figure out how to setup the edgerouter lite (I've
only done bridged DSL modems for the WAN connection before), and I'm
curious about how well VOIP will work for our fax line. The telco has
shipped in an Adtran box that spits out ethernet and analog phone
lines on a 66 block to us, but I don't know what goes between it and
the (12 strand?) fiber hanging on the wall.

Fun times!
