Don't forget OpenBSD.  In some cases, OpenBSD has the latest most updated
support for 32 bit sparc hardware.  Check the list and compare to your
specific setup:

I can't speak for ports and packages for OpenBSD versus NetBSD for sparc,
but there is plenty to run.

I had 24bpp color running on my TadPole SPARCbook.
