Most computer monitors these days are cheap, lousy TN panels.   They 
look like garbage when you rotate them 90 degrees. The merely-awful 
vertical viewing angle becomes a horrifying horizontal view angle.

As a result, most monitors don't bother with stands that permit 
rotation.  Why encourage a configuration the user won't enjoy?
