I had an SS5 with OBSD playing firewall for the CATV connection at my
house, and found that it was limiting the connection speed. This was
back when the download was supposed to be only in the 3-5Mb range, too.
I don't know what part of the machine was limiting it, I just put a
900MHz PeeCee with OBSD it its place. (Apologies for that.)
