If it is a thermistor: Yes. But it can be a anything from a simple
thermistor up to a smart digital themperature sensor like a DS1820.
(The DS1820 comes in a TO92 enclosure like showen on the link Steve
posted.) So I would start with identifying the TO92 part at the end of
the cable.
