Something I've been unable to gauge accurately in my web wandering is
- how much better are Fujitsu's SPARC processors, when compared to the
recent Sun offerings?

The wikipedia SPARC page(1) lists them in a column ranked by processor
freq. and cores, is this something like the actual performance
ability?:

Name (codename) Model	Frequency (MHz) Arch. version	Year	Total threads

UltraSPARC IV (Jaguar) Sun SME1167 1050b1350 V9 2004 1C2=2
UltraSPARC IV+ (Panther) Sun SME1167A 1500b2100 V9 2005 1C2=2
UltraSPARC T1 (Niagara) Sun SME1905 1000b1400 V9 / UA 2005 2005 4C8=32
SPARC64 VI (Olympus-C) Fujitsu 2150b2400 V9/JPS2 2007 2C2=4
UltraSPARC T2 (Niagara 2) Sun SME1908A 1000b1600 V9 / UA 2007 2007 8C8=64
UltraSPARC T2 Plus (Victoria Falls) Sun SME1910A 1200b1600 V9 / UA 2007 2008 8C8=64
SPARC64 VII (Jupiter) [10] Fujitsu 2400b2520 V9/JPS2(?) 2008 2C4=8
UltraSPARC RK (Rock)[11] Sun SME1832	2300 V9 / UA__?__ canceled?[12] 2C16=32
SPARC64 VIIIfx (Venus)[13][14] ? ? V9 TBA 8 cores

Also, anyone able to comment on the future of UltraSparc RK (Rock) ==
is it still going to be produced?

Cheers,
Jonathan
