eBay man.  You can get them for $2 or less depending on the type.   Perhaps
dig around the good will for an old TV or radio.   eBay item number
320313071603
is $1.00 (buy it now) with $2.24 shipping.  It's a 6HQ5 tube which is only
2.125" tall, but you get the idea.  The data sheet for it is here:
