AFAIK when they made Sol7 free, they also made the same thing apply to all
previous Solaris 2.x versions - you could get the OS from a friend and use
it legally, but if you wanted support you had to pay for it.

This did NOT apply to "Solaris 1.x", the retro-name for SunOS.
