I have to agree with you.  One of the industry's biggest problem is that
students and employees both think that the computer science discipline
is something it isn't.  People go through a CS program expecting to know
how to implement systems instead of how to design the abstract parts of
them.

If folks want an electrical/computer engineer, they should hire one.
