Just
for
a
bit
of
follow
up,
I
did
try
another
monitor.
The
new
one
is
an
eMachines
17"
LCD
that
is
fairly
new.

At
first
it
said
scan
frequency
out
of
range,
but
not
it
just
says
no
signal.

According
to
fbconfig,
the
card
is
set
to
1280x1024x60,
which
is
what
the
LCD's
native
resolution
is
(and
what
I'm
using
on
the
U5).

Hopefull
the
official
Sun
adapter
is
all
I
need
to
make
this
work.

Joshua,
I finally found the info on the Sun 13w3 adapter you need. It's P/N 130-3034, or marketing # X3872A. A good picture of one (though not the cheapest price) can be found here:
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5fid=1313&sku=28279

Shouldn't have to pay more than US$20 for one.

good luck,
Jonathan
