[rescue] AS/400? Anyone?

The way I interpret this is that the AS/400 ran an "improved" System 38
emulator, and the RS6000 runs a hardware assited version of the same
emulation, now ported to the RS6000.

My PC has a nameplate on it reading "IBM 3145 Processor" and runs VM/370
and MVS. Does that make it a 370/145? I don't think so, and therefore
IMHO an RS6000 effectively running the same emulation as an AS/400 did,
not an AS/400, but an RS6000.

I also interpret what you said to mean that the actual AS/400
instruction set is not emulated or run natively by anything, so that
makes it (again IMHO) dead and gone.
