Was there a company in the 1970's that made NEW M1 carbines there?

When I lived in the states, I had three of them, one in .22 m1-carbine.

I remember around 1987 going out on a blind date in Woodbury New Jersey,
around 5 miles southeast of Camden. The woman I went out with met me
at the main bus stop and took me on a short tour of the area. I think
7 of the top 10 "superfund toxic waste 	dump cleanup sites" were within 5 miles
of there. Who needs chemical weapons?


I'm about three miles S-SW of the Temple Mount. The last KNOWN resting
place of the ark, as in "Raiders of the Lost....".
