[rescue] Hitachi DKR1C-J72FC on an E3500?

Hello all,
I've been slowly building out an E3500 to get to know Solaris and ZFS
better.
I just received a handful of Hitachi DKR1C-J72FC disks off ebay (1.6"
10Krpm(?) 72GB FC-AL) and am having some trouble with them. Before I give up
on them and make use of the no-DOA guarantee, I want to make sure I'm not
missing something since I'm very new to fiber-channel.

When one of these is plugged into the system, the drive light comes on, but
the disk doesn't spin up. a probe-fcal-all from openboot shows nothing but
the 9GB disk I'm booting from, and after a boot -r the new disks don't show
up in /dev/rdsk, and format doesn't list them either. If it were just a
matter of nasty 520-byte sectors, these should still show up, right? I've
gone through swapping disks from slot to slot and cables and GBICs and
there's no change, so I think the rest of the setup is ok.

The only other thing I can think of is that it needs a jumper set correctly
to talk to the fiber-channel interface in the Sun (I'm using the onboard
socal interfaces). They're not listed on Hitachi's site though. Anyone know
anything about these disks or have any additional trouble-shooting ideas?

Thanks,
Brian Nelson
