Solaris 10 made me give up on the whole thing, after nearly 12 years of
running Solaris.  If I want Linux, I know where to find it.

The big thing for me was that the documentation has gotten out of sync
with reality.  Just -try- to figure out a way to set up xinerama and
override the display frequency on a pair of C3ds.  Hint 1: OpenWindows
apparently ignores /etc/dt/*, and ignores ffbconfig past rebooting.
Hint 2: The documentation says to use /etc/dt/* and ffbconfig.  Hint 3:
the shell scripts that launch X say that changes made to them will be
ignored, even though it was the ONLY way I could find to make things
work.

Also, the breach of feature parity between Solaris/SPARC & Solaris/x86
is nasty.  Why put Xsun in one & Xorg in the other?  Why make features
of the desktop in Solaris/SPARC depend on X extensions that -only- work
in Solaris/x86 (XRandR comes to mind)?

The new service stuff is irritating, but I suspect it's one of those
things that feels better the more you use it.  I don't think I'll ever
like typing svcadm -restart svc://network/mail/sendmail or whatever more
than /etc/init.d/sendmail restart, though.

I just hope I can stomach it on a server, because I blew a -lot- of
money on decent Sun hardware in the hopes that zones will be an
improvement over the "everything box".
