The one between St. Louis and Indy (Indianapolis): 
Carbondale, Illinois.  Actually a few miles from Carbondale, a little
nowhere burg known as Murphysboro (also Illinois).

The back end of nowhere, with rednecks.  Oh, and a university with a
roughly 19,000-student enrollment.
