I wasn't aware that I was supposed to comment on what was, after all,
a fairly obvious film reference. So I just took it literally and made
a joke (or it would be if it wasn't dangerously accurate) about Parcel
Farce's typical delivery methods.

Actually, I find those sort of films dull. You've seen one, you've
seen them all. the majority of my collection could be described as
arthouse, I suppose, spanning most of the history of cinema.

You want a film that scary for a reason other than to satisfy a need
for gore? "The War Game", produced by the BBC and then immediately
banned by the government for being too fatalistic. (On a related note,
"Threads" has just been re-released, at least in Region 2. But why
Sheffield rather than Redditch, I ask myself?)

Can't say I've seen those particular two, mind. Unless they wander
past cheaply on DVD, I'm unlikely to catch them on TV, since even the
once-great BBC seems to have descended into mostly "reality" TV,
makeover shows and unfunny "comedies". I think I'd rather read a book.
