prices have sure dropped...

I remembered when I counted myself lucky on my U60 'score'... I had
been looking to pick a Ultra 2 off of eBay (from Sun's auctions when
they first started to dump Ultra 2 systems on eBay)...I just couldn't
win one in my price range... so I looked at the other auctions Sun
had on eBay and saw this nice U60.... I put in the opening bid of
$2500 (as I recall), and nobody out bid me. Now... it didn't meet
reserve.... but Sun sold it to me for $2500 anyway... wasn't I
psyched.... a U60, 21" Trinitron flat screen (the truly and totally
flat one), 18G drive, 1/2 gig memory, 450mhz proc....

And I got tha tdeal while people were bidding almost $3000 on a
lesser config'd refurb/leftover ultra 2...

The U60 is still my primary computer.... although I really should
dump more ram in it, get a second processor, move to mirrored hds,
and upgrade from Solaris 8 (torn between going to 9 or to 10).
