No. It works with a usual ATX PSU.

It can do 15 / 16 and 24 bpp. The problem is that the Rage II in the
U5 has only 2 MB of VRAM. There is simply not enough VRAM to run high
resolutions with high color depth. IMHO Sun cripled the ATI chip by
giving it not enough VRAM. (... in the hope to sell expensive UPA
framebuffers as people want 24 bpp with at least 1024x768.)
