The Toaster and optional Flyer card.

Not likely. It appears to be mostly 68k assembly code, and it seems
that the most interesting parts (DVE and relatedly the rather speedy
NLE) are tied closely (my understanding is that the DVE does everything
on the toaster card, and the NLE just adds a proprietary dual stream
compression card that feeds it's two streams into the DVE) to the
hardware.

However, I wonder about the pontential for people who have the cards to
use this to rewrite some of the software to run on a PPC accelerator.
I'm not sure what exactly, other than trying to beef up the CG module
and Paint module though. The other modules that really process video do
all their work on the card itself, I believe. I'm assuming that the CG
and paint modules only make minimal usage of the card, but I could be
wrong.
