   You said it yourself, he got the big payoff from Microsoft in the 
form of stock options.  I'm willing to bet it was a "Here Rick, push NT 
at your company and we'll give you a job, complete with huge quantities 
of stock, so nobody will be able to call it a 'bribe'.."
