Sorry man.  Maybe it is just my old linux experience talking, but I
can't stand fvwm.  I'd take twm before fvwm.

I used to use one called aewm.  Not positive, but that one may be
lighter weight still than fvwm or twm.  It ran nicely on IPXs and SS5s
(and SS5s in IPX boxes).
