   Hard drive != CDROM

   In many cases, it's decidedly nontrivial to simply copy the contents 
of a CDROM to a hard drive.  Picture the case of software distributions 
which use multiple CDROM partitions and, for suit-copy-protection 
reasons, do strange things with the partitions.
