Good question. I'm running my RS/6000 530H just below the microwave 
oven in my kitchen. 

Maybe it's related: I had a dead 19" monitor from IBM that I placed next
to it. I intended to put it in the trash this week so I tested it (I've 
got a second working one which I didn't want to confuse it with)... it's
functional again.
