   Actually, Rhode Island demands frequent "statistical revaluations"
where they physically inspect a few houses and extrapolate those value
changes over all the properties to change the property tax rate. But
this year, they'll be coming into *every* house in the state and taking
photos & measurements.
   Considering all the work & money we've pounded into our house in the
last three years, I expect to get pounded by the Tax Man in return. :7(

P.S. Does this belong on Geeks? Or can I keep it here if I write that
I'm waiting to re-do my basement, with a mighty home-made rack for my
computers and new shelves for my books, until the assesor guy departs?
