Yes to the monitor question.

I'd say that under average circumstances an Octane runs anywhere from
25% faster to 100% percent faster.

The memory bandwidth on the I2s wasn't really sufficient for either the
R10k or the Impact options, and it was especially hurt if you had both.
Plus, the Octane has better SCSI and FastE.
