   Well, depending on what certs/experience you're after, certain things
_need_ a GUI, like the Oracle installer. And I think Sun pushes using
stuff like admintool as the "official" way to do some tasks, like set up
printers (though I confess I haven't looked into this lately).
  You can always run vnc or something, but "it's better to have and not
need than need and not have" -- and at the prices people charge for a
framebuffer, why ot?
