Well, I go through airport metal detectors fine.

On the other hand, at SeaTac they wanded and wiped me and hand-inspected
my shoes, because they thought the soles were too thick. (The only pair
of actual shoes I have that I can wear is a pair of Fila cross-trainers,
and they have two insoles and a heel lift in them to create enough height
at the heel to compensate for the limited range of motion in my left
ankle.)
