Sure you can.  I'm not exactly sure, but I think the list of stuff that
doesn't work with 1.2 is:
 - 4 port fast ethernet/6 port serial option board
 - any VPro series (including V6 and V8)

To support V6 and V8, you need 1.3 Xbow.  1.4 will let you run any
V-series graphics.
