[rescue] Advice on Octanes

Is it possible to use an XVM stripe for the root
file system or do i need to have IRIX boot off of a
"normal" partition?

I'd like to give the XVM thing a shot but i've only
got two drives in my Octane at the moment.  I'm
assuming an XVM stripe is just normal RAID level 0 ?
