Most of my machines don't do startup sound, but babylon5 plays the THX
sound when it finishes booting. Rather loudly. And it has a very good
soundcard and speakers. :)
This is actually for historical reasons, two employers ago, surrounded
by Macs that chimed or chorded on startup and Windows PCs that played
that annoying-yet-somehow-bland 'Microsoft Sound' that BillG paid some
obscene amount of money to have contrived.
"That's not a startup sound. *THIS* is a startup sound ...."
