I had no idea that E4000 machines were getting this cheap. I guess the relicensing costs[1] make these machines worthless for commercial use.
Note that the system I linked to has a set of X2600A carrier boards (which limit the cache addressing to 1MB) but IMO it is still a really good deal. You have to admit that this system makes a tricked-out Ultra 80 look a lot less attractive as a multi-processor workstation.
And the best part is that you can field upgrade to an E4500 in a year's time when the X2602A and X2612A carrier boards get real cheap :-)

[1] Sun charges just on 28,500 USD to relicense this system (part SOLIS-090-Y9U9, Solaris 9 Midrange Server16 Upgrade RTU, 16 CPU Maximum, SPARC Platform Edition).
