L2 cache on chip wasn't much of an inovation.  Others had already done
multi die packages, so I don't see using the second die as L2 as a big
deal, but I'm willing to cede that Intel did that first, for lack of
time to find cases otherwise.

I'm not positive that L2 at full CPU clock speed was original to the
PPro.  And I'd also argue that it isn't very important overall, but it
did make for a fairly fast CPU at the time.
