Be careful on the firmware update.  Make sure you have either
reliable power or a UPS.  Some of the VAX and Alpha systems
aren't as easy to recover a failed firmware upgrade as others,
and the 8400 is one of those that aren't as easy to recover.

Also, when updating SRM variables, don't worry if some of them
take a bit longer to execute as expected.  The 8400 (and some
others, like the GS140), can take a bit longer than usual due
to the design.
