Well, actually...

Solaris 2.5.1 = SunOS 5.5.1 + Openwindows 3.5.1

There's no Solaris 3-6. Here's the older chart... don't know the
Openwin/CDE versions for sunos 5.6 and up, but Solaris is the marketing
term for the bundle of SunOS and the windowing system. .

        Solaris SunOS OpenWin

        1.0 4.1.1 2.x
        1.1 4.1.2 3.0
        1.1.1 4.1.3 3.1
        1.1.1b 4.1.3_U1 3.1
        1.1.2 4.1.4 3.1
        2.0 5.0 3.1
        2.1 5.1 3.1
        2.2 5.2 3.2
        2.3 5.3 3.3
        2.4 5.4 3.4
        2.5 5.5 3.5
        2.5.1 5.5.1 3.5.1

And yeah, ebay or flea market/swap meets are your best bet for pre-8 media
outside of good support contracts. I still see the 2.5.1 kits around silly
valley from time to time, and when I went to a shop in San Jose today they
had a couple dozen 1.1.1 kits even :)

They both run on the SS10, but since SS10 is MP-capable, the license is
not free. For legitimate operation, you would probably need the 1-4cpu
desktop or server RTU from SunStore or your Sun reseller.
