[rescue] Re: Throw another packet on the server...

It is really hard to guage what is load or irritating to one person
and one environment to another person or environment.

I have an Ultra 60, and I think the drives make more "irritating" noise
than the fan. Especially since I replaced the dying Sun 18G SCSI drive
with two 9G WD Enterprise drives (10K RPM).

I have a U60 running with 2 x WD 9G, P200MMX running Solaris 8 for Intel
driving 2 x 4G 7200RPM Quantums internally and 12 9G 7200RPM Quantiums
externally (in a 12 slot Sun Multipak), a Cisco 3620 router, Cisco 2924XL
switch, and a Cisco 1548 Microswitch all in the same room (large room).

I've gotten used to the hums/wines.

I don't find it that bad in here... but others might ?

Noises are always from fans or from drives.... and generally you can
always get quieter version of both of those.... so you CAN quiet a
system down.
