I know that, but wonder, if OC3 and FDDI were rolled out next to each
other, which would effectively be faster for a TCP/IP environment with
lots of bulk transfers.

Not that I'm going to bother.  I'm hoping to have FDDI in production use
at home soon, and after that, I hope for the next stop to be either
GigE, HIPPI, or Myrinet.
