Not to mention that it was a lot more difficult to wash clothing.
The main reason we go through so many clothes in modern life is
because they wear out from being washed so much.

(Yes, textile, craft, sewing, etc. geek too.  Jack of all trades
fits me in more ways than you can imagine.  It's too bad I can't
get paid for all this excess info in my brain.)
